We have some exciting news for the entire Bulldog Organization
Softball Division. We have a unique opportunity for
the girls in the softball division to receive ongoing
individual, structured pitching lessons. Not a one
time clinic, but year round instruction to learn the fast pitch softball pitching motion. This is for kids that will be at least
7-14 years old for the 2010 season.
John Shimkus and his daughter Meagan will be giving pitching
lessons to the Bulldog players. They have
given us an incredible deal....$10 per girl for a 1 hour
lesson. (BULLDOGS PLAYERS ONLY) John and his daughter will
only take 2 girls per each lesson in order to give the
girls the individual attention they need to learn the pitching
motion. This gives your daughter incredible attention from
John and Meagan
Before you contact John...make sure your daughter really wants
to be a pitcher. This position is not for everyone. It takes a
lot of dedication and drive to learn, develop, and improve the
skills it takes to become an effective pitcher.
Once your daughter and you have decided to take lessons you may
contact John. They do require the following:
1.) A catcher, preferably a parent or much older sibling
who will be working with your daughter. A lot of practice time
is required at home. The parent needs to learn what
to look for when your daughter is practicing and doing her
homework from John. No drop off and go, no younger siblings, or
neighborhood friends to catch for her.
2.) If your daughter has spikes, wear
them.( while we are outdoors) If your daughter doesn't
have them it's a good idea to get her a pair.
3.) Water Bottle ready
4.) Arrive 15 minutes early so that warm-up is not
part of the lesson you are paying for.
5.) Have at least 1 ball. 3-4 balls in your bag will
make the lessons more productive. 11" for 10U and
12" for all others. Be sure the balls are regular,
leather covered softballs.
No "softie" or plastic covered balls.
The goal here is to start this now and continue working
throughout the off season. I am working on indoor practice
locations. If you know of any let me know. This is a commitment in helping to improve the quality of our program and pitchers. I
am hoping that you take advantage of this great opportunity. The
2009 season starts now.
This is the first time we are offering this to everyone....we
will work out any kinks as they pop up.
You do not have to let me know if you are going to take lessons.
To schedule lessons it's best to email John at CoachJohn1227@comcast.net
to work out the details for a time and location. If
you have questions ask John. He will be happy to go into detail
about our goals. His cell number is
815-210-7715.
Thank you,
Josie
