Bulldogs,
If you are not aware, there is an ongoing bat debate by all
top level organizations such as Little League, Babe Ruth,
Pony..etc.
Topics include a debate on what material a bat can be made of
and the diameter of the barrel.
Our baseball organization is not an official charter of any of
the top level organizations mentioned above. However, we do
subscribe to following Pony Baseball rules when applicable.
Pony Baseball has instituted a rule change on bat diameters.
This rule change goes into effect immediately for the 2011
season.
The TPYB board adopted this rule change at the board meeting
on 2/9/2011 and the rule is in effect immediately.
For the upcoming 2011 season the following rule change applies
to:
T-Ball, Pinto, Mustang. All levels (house league, PT Travel,
Sunday League and FT Travel) of play are impacted.
Rule Change: 2 3/4" barrel bats at T-ball, Pinto and
Mustang are NOT allowed.
The maximum diameter allowed is 2 5/8"
For 2012, this rule change will extend into Bronco, Pony, Colt
and Palomino age groups and include all levels of travel
baseball as well.
The official rule change from Pony Baseball is included below
and can be found on their website.
